Learn More About Teeth in a Day Treatments

Our Teeth in a Day service in the Flathead Valley is a way to restore your smile in just one appointment at our office. Dr. Heaser uses implant-supported dentures to replace a couple of teeth or a full arch of teeth.

With Teeth in a Day, you’ll come into the office to get dental implants and temporary dentures or bridges on top of the dental implants. Then, the implants are left to heal completely to your jaw. This process can take multiple months, but you’ll have the temporary tooth replacements in place, so your smile will look natural and not have gaps.

Implants act like tooth roots for your new smile and are hypoallergenic posts that are placed in your jawbone.

Then, after your jaw heals, you’ll come back to receive your permanent dental bridges or dentures.

Implant-Supported Dentures for a Secure New Smile

You likely know about dentures, and when you think about dentures, you likely imagine traditional options. With traditional dentures, all of your teeth are removed on either one arch or your entire mouth. Then, a removable denture is used to replace the missing teeth.

While traditional dentures are a good option for many people, they do have some downsides. They can be uncomfortable to wear and make chewing difficult. They can also be unnatural looking or fit awkwardly in your mouth, although modern traditional dentures are better fitting than they used to be.

If you want a more stable option, implant-supported dentures are a good alternative. Dr. Heaser uses the All-on-X method for implant-supported dentures. This method allows you to get secure dentures all in one day.

How All-On-4 and All-On-6 Works

The Teeth in a Day treatment utilizes an approach to dental implants called All-on-X. With All-on-X, it’s possible to restore an entire arch or entire mouth of teeth with just a few dental implants.

If you have multiple missing or damaged teeth, you need replacement teeth to restore the function and appearance of your smile. However, receiving dozens of dental implants would be extremely difficult and expensive.

But, with the All-On-X system, you won’t have to deal with that. Instead, you can get an entire arch or mouth of teeth with just a few dental implants that act as anchors for the dental restorations, such as full or partial dentures.

The exact number of dental implants you’ll need depends on your mouth and how many damaged and missing teeth you have. So, some people can restore an entire mouth of teeth with just 4 implants. For others, it may require eight to ten implants.

Dr. Heaser will examine your mouth and take X-rays to see how many implants you’ll need for your Teeth in a Day restoration.

The Benefits of Implant-Supported Dentures

Many patients prefer implant-supported entries because they offer many advantages. Implant-supported dentures are amazing because they:

  • Are More Stable: With implant-supported dentures, you won’t have to deal with the dental restoration slipping or shifting around while you eat and speak.
  • Are More Comfortable: Because implant-supported dentures, whether they are fixed or removable, attach to the dental implants, you don’t have to worry about adhesives or sore spots from chafing.
  • Make Chewing Easier: Because traditional dentures sometimes slip around, they can make it challenging to chew. With implant-supported dentures, you can enjoy most foods without worry.
  • Last Longer: Dental implants often last a lifetime. If you take care of the implants well, you won’t have to get another dental restoration again. You may need to have the denture part replaced, but the implants will last and function just like your natural tooth roots.
  • Preserve Your Jawbone: Dental implants stimulate the jawbone, preventing the loss of jaw bone density. With traditional dentures, your gums and the bone structure can become weaker over time.

Implant-supported dentures are a great treatment option for many patients. You can avoid the hassle of slipping dentures or discomfort in your smile. The higher investment in time and cost is worth it!

A Quicker Treatment for Full Arch Replacement

The Teeth in a Day treatment is a procedure in which damaged teeth are removed, dental implants are placed, and a temporary replacement tooth is placed—all in a single day. In traditional dental practices, these three steps are separated into separate appointments which places a lot of effort on the patient’s end.

A Strong Smile, a Transparent Cost

Many corporate centers, like ClearChoice, charge based on the number of implants. At Three Rivers Dental, we offer a flat fee, ensuring you get top-quality care without surprise costs.

With Dr. Evon’s advanced implant expertise, you’ll receive a strong, natural-looking smile with long-lasting results.

Our Process for Teeth in a Day

We will schedule a separate consultation to get to know you and your health. We can determine if you are a candidate for implants. Once we have determined that, we will schedule your Teeth in a Day appointment.

During that appointment, we will extract any teeth that need to be extracted for the dentures to function. We will only do this after discussing it with you. Then we can place your implants.

Implants are small titanium posts placed in the jawbone. They will integrate with your jawbone in a matter of months, creating a secure attachment for your new dentures. The implants are placed under general or local anesthesia depending on your needs.

Once your implants are placed Dr. Heaser can immediately attach temporary dentures, effectively giving you a new smile in just one visit!

Once your implants have integrated with your smile, Dr. Heaser will give you permanent dentures that are permanently attached to your implants using abutments. Abutments are a small attachment that is the link between your dental implant and your arch of dentures.

Implant-supported replacement teeth allow your smile to function without additional care and maintenance. Just brush your teeth and floss like you usually do.

Clients with adequate oral health and jawbone structure can qualify to receive the Teeth in a Day treatment. Dr. Evon will scan your smile and evaluate your health history during your first appointment to clarify that this procedure will fit your needs.

For patients with outstanding health conditions, our office offers gum disease care and other restorative care to help your smile be fit for reconstructive treatment as soon as possible. She can also provide additional services like bone grafts for patients who need additional help before they are a good candidate for dental implants.

Dr. Evon Heaser has a fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. This means she has extensive training and experience in dental implant restorations, including complex cases and Teeth-in-a-day treatments. She will communicate with you on what she thinks will be most beneficial for your smile.

Tips on Caring for Your Implant-Supported Dentures

If you want your implant restoration to look great and last a lifetime, learning how to care for them is vital. Here are some simple steps you can take to maintain your dental implants:

Caring for your dental impatiens is pretty much the same as caring for your natural teeth. You’ll want to brush twice per day with a fluoride toothpaste and soft-bristled brush. You’ll also want to floss at least once a day: water flossers can be convenient if you have dental restorations.

Your diet and overall health can also impact your teeth. Do your best to eat a balanced diet and drink lots of water. Remember to consume sugary items in moderation and be careful of any hard or sticky foods as those can damage your dentures.

Regular cleanings and exams ensure all of your teeth are in good shape, whether they are your natural teeth or a dental restoration. We do all we can to make your visits comfortable, thorough, and timely.
